2019 Department Ceremonies
Ceremonies are listed alphabetically. Please contact your department directly if you have any specific questions regarding these ceremonies.
Students, friends, and familes—please mark your calendar and save the date for our annual PPPM Pre-Commencement Reception to honor the graduating class of 2019.
The Sunday reception by Hendricks Hall is a PPPM school-only event with graduating students’ families and friends, and recognition of each cohort, plus a few student awards. The reception is a relaxing time to celebrate accomplishments plus opportunities to socialize and make introductions to faculty. Don’t forget to bring your camera and snap a photo of your graduate!
For more details regarding the spring event, please check out our Commencement Information webpage.
Join us for the 2019 College of Design Commencement Ceremony and the presentation of the Ellis F. Lawrence Medal.
College of Design Commencement details are available on the College of Design website.
There will be a reception prior to the College of Design ceremony from 1:00–3:00 p.m. in the Lawrence Hall Courtyard. We encourage students to bring their families and friends to engage and mingle with faculty and fellow students.
Congratulations, Duck graduates! On UO Commencement Monday, the museum celebrates the Class of 2019 by offering free admission to grads, families, and everyone else. Explore the world's oldest shoes, giant salmon and mammoths, and a whole world of stories about our collective past and future.
The 2019 Evening with the Master's Reception and Showcase will be held on Thursday, June 6th at UO – Portland. All SOJC-Portland alums, current and prospective students, as well as faculty and friends of the SOJC are invited.
We will be celebrating our Class of 2019 as the Strategic Communication graduating students present their final projects and the Multimedia Journalism class, Reporting in Communities, will screen the final video-stories about engaged journalism.
It is a great opportunity to reconnect with current and former students and to get the latest info on our exciting graduate programs in Portland. Please feel free to invite your colleagues and family/friends.
Please RSVP by June 1. We hope to see you there!
