This email and the event ticket were sent on June 7, 2021, to graduates who opted in for the Grad Parade and Stage Procession.

Dear Class of 2021 graduate:

Congratulations on your graduation! Please read all of the information in this email carefully, as these are the final instructions for participating in the Grad Parade and livestreamed Stage Procession.

Attached to this email is your ticket to participate in the Grad Parade and Stage Procession. To participate, you will need bring the ticket with you, along with a mask and UO regalia. Please fill out the attached form before coming to campus, and remember to bring it with you.

Please arrive at Matthew Knight Arena no earlier than 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will provide wristbands to graduates who bring the three items listed above. Once you receive your wristband, please line up on 13th Avenue for the start of the parade. The Grad Parade begins at 12:30 p.m.

The Stage Procession will follow the parade, and begins at 1:00 p.m. on the Memorial Quad. Graduates will transition from the parade to the procession staging area on 13th Avenue beginning at Tykeson Hall. Graduates must have a wristband and possess the three items as listed above to participate. Please note: the livestream will end when five minutes have passed since the last person in line crossed the stage. Graduates must stay in the procession lines in order to guarantee participation in the livestream.

Following the stage procession, graduates can have their pictures taken before exiting the Quad. Pictures will be available for purchase online within a few days.

The two in-person activities will proceed rain or shine (with the exception of lightning), and graduates should prepare for the weather accordingly. Also, the stage procession is expected to take 3-4 hours in order to accommodate the 2,500 graduates who opted in. While the procession will be continuously moving, graduates should be prepared to stand in line as they wait their turn to cross the stage. Graduates will be prompted to text their families as they near the front of the line.

Congratulations, again, on achieving this significant milestone. We look forward to your participation in this Saturday’s commencement activities. If you have any questions, please contact the Commencement office
